Clean energy property must meet the following standards to qualify for the residential clean energy credit:
- Geothermal heat pumps: Meet ENERGY STAR® requirements in effect at time of purchase
- Solar water heaters: Certified by the Solar Rating & Certification Corporation or a comparable entity endorsed by your state
- Battery storage technology: Have a capacity of at least three kilowatt hours
